LG Korea have released a utility that enables users to automatically check for new firmware. Unfortunately the tool does not work with all LG optical drives but the company is planning to add support for more.
Supported drives:
* CD-ROM Drive: GCR-8522B and GCR-8523B,
* CD-RW Drive: GCE-8525B and GCE-8526B,
* DVD-ROM Combo Drive: GCC-4521B
* Super Multi Drive: GSA-4081B, GSA-4082B, GSA-4120B, GSA-4160B and GSA-4163B, GSA-5120D, GSA-5160D and GSA-5163D
